Book Description

Cadence, JD, and Orlando couldn’t be more different from one another. Under normal circumstances, the three wouldn’t so much as say hi to each other if they could get away with it. Then an alien crashes through the roof of their local mall, and everything changes. Not only do the three teens gain new abilities, but they’re also chosen to help fight in an intergalactic war where the next chosen battlefield is Earth.

Reluctant at first, they change their minds when the fight hits close to home. Teenagers from school start to go missing, and some are dead. Together they must learn to work together and solve the mystery behind these disappearances before more lives are lost.

1. Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m from Minnesota. I have a three-year-old son and two furbabies (cats). When I’m not writing I’m either reading a ton or gaming a ton. I love books and RPGs, and they’re a great way for me to unwind!

2. What made you want to become a writer?

All of the ideas floating around in my head. If I didn’t write, I think I’d go nuts from creative overload.

3. Who or what gives you inspiration?

My dreams, which I like to call divine inspiration.

4. Tell us about Battlefield.

It’s a science fiction story, but also one that’s about growing up and trying to make it through life one day at a time. High school is already complicated, and the characters realize that it’s time for them to start growing up and that there are big problems out there. Of course there’s a love story too, multiple ones. Some pretty cool super powers as well.

5. What’s the hardest part of being a writer?

Finding the time and motivation to actually do it.

6. What do you need around you to write (special drink, lucky items, etc)?

Mostly just attention span. I need to be able to look at my computer in peace and just write. Something to drink is usually pretty good too, and I need something to occupy the kiddo too.

8. Are your characters based on anyone you know?

My main characters aren’t, but some of my side characters are based on random people I have met in my life. A lot of the teachers are named after my actual teachers, and the places tie back to where I grew up.

9. What, if anything, are you working on right now?

I’m currently working on the third book in this series. After that I’m going to get back to working on one of my other book series. Hopefully I’ll be starting something brand new soon. That’s next on my list: an epic romantic story.

10. Why do you love writing?

I just love to create. I love to tell a story. To paint a world and connect with people on a different level.
