BOOK TOUR REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Flight by Alissa Rose Ivy

Flight

by Alissa Rose Ivy

The Crescent Chronicles, Book One

Book Description

Sometimes you just have to take flight.

A summer in New Orleans is exactly what Allie needs before starting college. Accepting her dad’s invitation to work at his hotel offers an escape from her ex-boyfriend and the chance to spend the summer with her best friend. Meeting a guy is the last thing on her mind—until she sees Levi.

Unable to resist the infuriating yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or saving a city that might just save her.

MY THOUGHTS: 3.5 OUT OF 5 FLEURS DE LIS

Flight by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Allie thinks she is embarking on an adventure by going to New Orleans the summer before she starts college to work in her father’s hotel. But when she meets the fun and sexy Levi, she has no idea just how much adventure she is getting into.

By getting involved with Levi, she also learns about the secret he hides. Allie never expected to spend her summer like this.

This book was pretty short and the synopsis was vague, so I didn’t really know what to expect when I started it. But the supernatural aspect was pretty unique.

At the beginning it is noted that Allie is pretty structured, and definitely not looking for a boyfriend since she’s just gotten out of a relationship. But when she meets Levi, her protests are feeble at best and she agrees to go out with him rather quickly.

I’m not saying this was insta-love, exactly, but the relationship between Levi and Allie seemed to progress rather quickly. And then, once he revealed what he really was, it seemed to intensify. I know the book was short but I wish the relationship would have gone through a bit more development.

We get to know Allie somewhat, since the story is told through her first person perspective. But we hardly learn anything at all about Levi. Maybe in the next book of the series we will go deeper into his character, and also learn more about his history and the history of his family.

The end was kind of a conundrum for me…I saw some things coming, but I appreciated the way Allie dealt with them. Let’s just say if a guy had done to me what Levi had done to her, I’d probably be a lot more livid than she was though. I was very disappointed in Levi for his actions.

I flew through the book quickly and I’ll probably read the next one. This was a unique take on the supernatural, but I wish the plot itself had a little more originality.

  3. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing Flight! 🙂

  4. I’ve been surfing online more than 4 hours today, yet I
never found any interesting article like
yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all website
owners and bloggers made good content as
you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.

  5. My developer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP.
I have always disliked the idea because of the costs.
But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on several
websites for about a year and am worried about
switching to another platform. I have heard fantastic things about blogengine.net.
Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content
into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  6. Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the internet the easiest
thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while peopole think about worries
that they plainly don’t know about. You managed to hit
the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing
without having side effect , people can take a
signal. Willl probably be back to get more.
    Thanks
