Fraterfest Read-a-thon!

Hi!  So apparently I am crazy, because I am participating in a read-a-thon even though I have a ridiculous amount of stuff to do this weekend.  Maybe my lovely in-laws will help me out by taking my son so I can have some uninterrupted reading time tomorrow…

But I digress.  The Fraterfest Read-a-thon is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer, and is a fun filled weekend of giveaways, Twitter parties, and spooky reading fun.  How do you participate?  Sign up by clicking on the banner at the top, then post your reading updates on your blog, Goodreads, Twitter, wherever.  You can read supernatural stories, mysteries, anything that gives you a chill.

Here’s what I will be working on:

Zombies, ghosts, vamps, hot supernatural boys….the stuff dreams are made of.

Right now I am nearly done with Spark, and I intend to finish it and Lucretia and the Kroons today!

I’ll be updating on this post as I go.

Join us for some creepy fun, or if you’re already participating, let me know where your post is so I can check it out!

PS–What do yall think of the new header I made?

UPDATE 10-8

Sorry I didn’t update yesterday, I was with my son at a ridiculously extravagant birthday party.  But I was still scaring myself…there was a clown there! 0.0

On Saturday night I finished Spark and gave it 5 STARS!

Yesterday I finished Lucretia and the Kroons and gave it 4 STARS!

Today I’m going off script and reading a cute little middle grade chapter book called The Three Lost Kids and the Death of the Sugar Fairy.  It’s great for younger readers to get ready for Halloween 🙂

You can catch the review for this on the blog tomorrow 🙂

FRATERFEST CHALLENGES

MyShelfConfessions’ Tune that Title Challenge!

So, this is a fun challenge!  You must tell what book you’re currently reading. Then tell what song you think most goes along with the book – it can be anything you think fits, and explain why.

Currently reading:

And the song I chose:

I Caught Fire by The Used–Gabriel Merrick has an affinity for fire.  He can start fires and control them.  But more than having the word fire in the song, the song is actually about falling in love unexpectedly, which is just what happens between the hot tempered Gabriel and the bookish Layne.

Christy’s Love of Books’ Frater Bash Challenge!

Using book covers, you are going to show us what you will wear and who your date will be.

My Outfit: Everyone looks thinner in black, and a gun is a great accessory if you think there’s a *chance* you might have to kill a zombie before the night’s end.  Also works great in fending off drunk would-be suitors.

My date: Um, duh, Gabriel Merrick.  He’s super sexy and can LIGHT THINGS ON FIRE. Very useful against all sorts of undead attacks!!
