REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Foster Farms Gluten Free Corn Dogs #FFGlutenFree

Foster Farms frozen products has recently launched a new line of gluten free foods, and I was happy to give their Honey Crunchy Corn Dogs a review!  Here is a bit more info:

Foster Farms Gluten Free Corn Dogs are made with chicken franks and dipped twice in honey crunchy batter. Gluten Free Corn Dogs can be found in the Frozen Corn Dog section of major retailers nationwide (including but not limited to Kroger, Safeway, Albertsons, Food Lion, HyVee).

The Honey Crunchy Corn Dogs come in a big box of 12.  Though the box takes up a good amount of space in the freezer, they also come in an internal plastic bag that you can take out of the box and just put in the freezer.  Directions state that you can prepare these by microwaving, conventional oven, or deep frying.  I found that microwaving made them a little mushy and didn’t showcase the honey flavor at all.  When I cooked the corn dogs from then on, I either made them in my big oven or my toaster oven.  They came out much better this way!

Once baked, these corn dogs definitely have some crunch and a sweet honey flavor.  I definitely could not tell that they were gluten free, they tasted just like the regular thing!  My favorite part about these corn dogs was that they are made with chicken franks and therefore quite low in fat.  Serve a couple up with fries or chips for a quick, delicious lunch you can feel good about!
