Everyone has faced a challenge or an obstacle in their life, right? Think about this quote from Rocky Balboa: “But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”
It’s not something I talk about much, but shortly after my husband and I got married over ten years ago, we discovered I was pregnant. This was a baby that was very much wanted, and we celebrated and immediately told our families the news. Within a couple of short weeks though, we discovered that I miscarried and the grief we both had was immense.
I was so emotionally worn out that I decided I wanted to wait a while before trying for another baby, but the universe must have known what I needed because within 2 months I was pregnant again. Cautiously, we prepared for our baby. Even though I had a very difficult pregnancy with a lot of illness, we happily welcomed our first son into the world on October 10, 2008.
It was hard for me to reconcile that I had lost a baby but there was one in my arms I had to take care of. With the help of my amazingly supportive husband, I made it through those newborn days and we now have mostly fond memories of that time.
You move forward in life, you must know that you have to get back up as many times as you fall.
