Kroger Truly Awesome Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies–BzzAgent

I recently had the chance to try the new cookies offered by Kroger brand…they are called Truly Awesome Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies. ¬†I am a member of Bzz Agent, and I was sent 2 boxes of cookies and some money saving coupons too ūüôā

First off, these cookies are huge!  They are probably almost twice the size of Chips Ahoy.  These cookies were fresh and smelled great when the package was opened.  They are also soooo full of chocolate chips.

We are big time cookie fans in our home, but I don’t always feel like getting in the kitchen and baking them from scratch. ¬†That’s where Truly Awesome cookies come in. ¬†When I tell you my husband totally wiped out these cookies, I mean it…he ate one entire box in a day! ¬†It’s disgusting ¬†that he’s still so skinny, really.

Overall, we really enjoyed these cookies and I found they were a good substitute when you want a quick snack or just don’t feel like making homemade cookies. ¬†If you heat them up for a few seconds, you just might be able to fool someone into thinking they are homemade!

Double Peanut Butter Delight Cookies

For some ungodly reason, my husband is not a giant fan of peanut butter. ¬†He’s more of a Nutella guy. ¬†Which is OK with me, but sometimes I just want some peanut butter cookies! ¬† I hate only baking for myself. ¬†So last week he actually agreed to eat some peanut butter in a baked good…and I had no problem making one! ¬†I decided on a peanut butter cookie laced with Reese’s Pieces and chocolate chips. ¬†These cookies were chocolately, peanut buttery overload ūüôā

The ingredient lineup.

Start by creaming together the butter, sugars, and peanut butter until smooth.

Beat in the egg and vanilla. ¬†Gradually add the flour and baking soda until combined. ¬†Now, carefully stir in the chocolate chips and Reese’s pieces.

It would be a good idea to chill your dough here, but I was baking kind of late and was in a hurry to get the cookies into the oven.  Scoop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 10-12 minutes. ¬†I went a little shorter on the time, because of my innate ability to overbake cookies. ¬†Your oven and baking time may vary. ¬†Let cool on pan for 5 minutes, then move to rack until fully cool…unless you love warm, gooey cookies ūüėÄ

I know I do ūüôā
